A little about me
Born, raised, and educated in Ireland. Manhattan and Brooklyn are where I called home for 2.5 decades. I just recently relocated home to the Boyne Valley, for a simpler life and pace.
I spent my first five NYC years conceptualizing and creating original textile pattern concepts, at a marathon pace, for an original design print studio. Using mostly hand-painting and a combination of clever xerox usage with mixed media. Clients included Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Mary Mc Fadden & Donna Karan.
After a while, I felt it important that I fully understand how that concept print went from a beautiful idea to a finished product. I reveled in trying my hand at all things possible. From designing patterns, forecasting color and print trends to delivering presentations while traveling the US and Europe. A career highlight was visiting a very early twentieth-century textile pattern archive of a grand fashion house in Milan.
I am a textile artist, designer, print stylist, and art director. I am energetic, flexible, and comfortable in any creative position. My aesthetic can be described as contemporary with a twist of the old world. I have a passion for hands-on creating and collaborating on new ideas and turning them into profitable great designs.
